It’s official! Sophie has said “Bye-bye, diapers! Hello, underpants!” We celebrated on Sunday with a candlelit breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes and three packages of new panties featuring Dora the Explorer and an assortment of Disney princesses. So far, so good, with only a handful of accidents and lots of proud proclamations from Sophie. She especially loves taking advantage of the convenience our backyard as one big potty wonderland. Here are a few shots from our festivities. These aren’t as nicely edited as Brian would produce, so forgive my Photoshop mediocrity. Zach had fun, too. Here's a classic silly face. Note all the food mess everywhere. Mostly he chews stuff up (in the front of his mouth, with 2 teeth on the bottom and 4 on top) then spits it back out. Watermelon is his ultimate favorite food and if it's around he pretty much shuns all other options.
Here's Soph opening her three packs of panties, individually wrapped with love by Mommy. I am sure by the third one she was hoping for something a little more fun, but she was polite about it!
Sophie in her first ever underpants. She chose a pair with princesses for her maiden non-diaper voyage. Our little girl is getting so big! And don't even get me started on Zach turning one next week...
