This past Saturday we celebrated Zachary’s 2nd birthday. What was forecast to be a cool, rainy day turned out to be pretty sunny and warm, though not quite the beautiful weather we enjoyed on the actual day of his birth two years ago. Zach LOVED having his birthday and his day was packed with fun from 6 in the morning until he crashed in his crib at 8pm with the final statement of the day being “Mommy, I want to have another birthday!” Here are some favorite photos from the big boy’s big day.

Zach's favorite food is probably "cereal wif milk" so we kicked the day off right with a brand new box of a fun cereal he'd never had before (Envirokidz Peanut Butter Panda Puffs, in case you're wondering). It was a big hit with both kids.

Here they are, both hamming it up.

We opened a few gifts right after breakfast. Here he's sporting his new "2" shirt and some cool shades. And you can't see them, but he's also wearing new crocodile slippers with glow-in-the-dark eyes. Now he can go toe-to-toe with Sophie in her coveted bunny slippers.

Zach's really into construction stuff now, hence the hard hat, construction themed party, and various construction-oriented toys. He calls himself "construction boy" when he wears his hard hat. Middlebury's current $16M Cross Street Bridge project has been fascinating for all the kids we know in the area.

Zachary loves being "just like Daddy" which necessiates lots of tools. This chainsaw is one of his favorite new toys.

No trees in the living room? No problem, we'll just get to work on the furniture.

Helping out with the yard work.

Dump truck cake! It was such a nice day, we had to move the party outside. And with the cake removed, Zach was able to take the truck on a grand tour of the back yard.

Mommy snapped this shot as Zach was running away from the party with an extra chunk of cake. He had permission, but still acted like he was trying to get away with something. Happy Birthday, little man! We love you!
